From Trainee Producer to Agency Owner

Integrated event communications agency Aspect has today announced that CEO Jo Randle has been made an equal partner in the business.

Jo joined the agency in 1998 as a Trainee Producer, rising through the ranks as a Producer and Director of Production, finally taking on the role of CEO in June 2011.

Under her leadership Aspect has grown into an award-winning, multi-million pound events agency working with some of the biggest enterprise companies in the world. Aspect’s AGM division has also become the UK market leader in the delivery of AGMs for FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies.

Agency founder Simon King-Cline commented: “As we look ahead to the next era of Aspect, we felt it was important to have a shareholder actively involved in the business on a day-to-day basis. Jo was our first employee, she has proven herself to be both an expert in our industry and a highly talented leader, so inviting her to become a shareholder was an obvious and exciting move for us.”

Co-founder Ben Hillson added; “In electing to part with a third of our business, all of the people involved in that process – the accountants, lawyers, tax advisers – asked us why we were doing it. They had only worked on such transitions for family businesses. Our answer was simple: Jo is family.”

With pre-pandemic expertise in virtual and hybrid events, Aspect has been well placed to adapt to the significant disruption caused to the event industry over the last two years. The agency secured twelve new clients in 2021, have actively recruited both into their Client Experience team and sales and marketing functions over the past year and have just relocated to a new office location in central London.

CEO and now Owner Jo Randle stated; “When Simon and Ben first told me of their intention I was absolutely speechless. Their generosity has been overwhelming.

“I remember my parents driving me to my interview with Aspect back in 1998 – which at that time was operating out of Ben’s garage. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into and it certainly wasn’t what they had in mind after putting me through University! But it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.”

Aspect has continued to recruit high calibre graduates like Jo, with Loren Wilson (Senior Producer) and Lauren Stanislas (Producer) both achieving promotions in the last 6 months having joined Aspect from University.
