Sustainable AGM

The Context

As an organisation, our UK retail giant client prides itself on its ESG credentials.

Previous AGMs have focused on inclusivity, ensuring their Meetings were as inclusive, democratic and accessible as possible.

In 2024, our task was to build on this work and produce a more sustainable AGM.

 

 

The Meeting

The omni-channel meeting format blended a studio broadcast with a live studio audience of 43 shareholders, resulting in an inclusive, intimate, and honest AGM.

Our focus on maintaining quality production values for those watching online ensured that both audiences had the same positive experience of the meeting, which was reflected in the attendee feedback we received.

 

 

Sustainability

Aspect worked with key stakeholders to ensure sustainability was a key factor in all decisions relating to the planning and delivery of this event.

We used event:decision track to measure and benchmark the carbon footprint of the Meeting, including food and beverage, AV, transportation, power, crew travel, accommodation and subsistence.

 

 

Results

Based on the data, the M&S AGM fell within the 12th percentile of conference format events measured by event:decision, on a per-delegate basis.

The data collected in 2024 has enabled us to better understand the variables and identify areas for future mitigation with regards to carbon footprint.
